Without an unprecedented rescue effort, there is no species more clearly doomed to extinction than the northern white rhino. Only two of these animals remain in existence, and they all have been identified as non-reproductive. What is astounding, and hopeful, is that 12 northern white rhinos are represented genetically in the Frozen Zoo®, and a plan has been launched to conduct a genetic rescue at our Nikita Kahn Rhino Rescue Center to save the species from extinction. To learn more, click here.
