Mark Forror serves San Diego Zoo Global as a Senior Buildings and Grounds Attendant in Disease Investigations. He is responsible for maintaining biosecurity in the necropsy room and adjacent areas, as well as proper disposal of medical waste. These vital functions help ensure the health of our animal collections. In addition, Mark monitors supplies and ensures safe operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
Mark attended San Diego State University, majoring in Psychology. A San Diego native, Mark has been with San Diego Zoo Global for over 30 years. In addition to maintaining the necropsy room for the last 10, years he provides weekend relief maintenance for the Zoo hospital. Mark is also responsible for other support duties such as cleaning the Histology Lab and hospital grounds upkeep.
Prior to working at the San Diego Zoo, Mark operated his own janitorial business. His long-term commitment to conservation is expressed in his everyday life. He has planted a drought tolerant yard at his home and spends time weekly in San Diego's Mission Trails Park enjoying nature while running and walking his dogs. His motto is “Think globally, act locally.”
