Julie Marshall

IACUC Manager

Julie serves San Diego Zoo Global as the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) manager in Legal Services and Risk Management. The IACUC is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, ethical practices, and humane care and use of animals in conservation research and education, while complying with all ethical and legal guidelines and regulations. In her role as manager of the IACUC, she serves as the main liaison between the committee members and the researchers at the Institute for Conservation Research, the San Diego Zoo, and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Julie earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Northern Iowa and is a certified professional IACUC administrator (CPIA). She is also a member of Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) and the IACUC Administrator's Association (IAA). Julie has an enduring passion for wildlife and enjoys facilitating the research application process, making it possible for researchers to do what they do best.
